Koodaus-koukussa J

Digitaalisia luovia ongelmanratkaisuja

Ajatuksia Koodiaapinen_MOOC-verkkokurssilta

  • koodaus /ohjelmointi on digitaalinen lukutaito,
  • koodaamalla syventyy kokemus digitaalisesta maailmasta,
  • koodaten kehittää algoritmista - loogista ajattelukykyä, sillä matematiikka, jota jossakin määrin tarvitaan, on logiikan kutsumista - wau!

    Kuva pianon koskettimista, oktaavialalta
Kuvassa nuotteja ja teksti: Hyvää Syntymäpäivää!
Koodin testauskuva, jossa toivotetaan hyvää joulua.
    Kuvassa sinipuna-sävyisiä tähtiä joulukuusen muodossa.

Evaluointi: kiitos, Vuokko Kangas, Tiina Partanen, Tero Toivanen ja Tarmo Toikkanen, hyvin onnistuneesta Eliademy-MOOCista!

>>> Python-kurssi alkaa ensi viikolla, monikohan meistä jatkaa siellä? ;)

Asiasanat: keinotekoiset kielet, verkkokurssit, verkko-oppiminen (YSA).

A rolling stone is not mossing

From bookshelves to digital archives

10th October, the celebration day of Finnish literature, draws one's, and definitely, my mind to fall in spell with the words of art, flow of thoughts of e.g. Aleksis Kivi. Who in his poem: Longingness wanted to be buried under the bay willow dim (translations, good or worse, all mine), and as an English saying reminds: "problem shared is a problem past". Hopefully he got what he wanted.

SKS, the society of Finnish literature, has digitalized his works. So first editions are viewable without dust via the Internet, e.g. with a tablet-device on a click in address: http://neba.finlit.fi/kivi/

In a photo-collage above the images of a book and a squirrel are actually Strip Design stickers, the app, namely, gives an opportunity to create one's own stickers and modify them with it's drawing or/and marking tools. It is advisable not to delete stickers from the app's memory until the photo is saved in to tablet's book of photos if still in want to keep those stickers in it. ;D

Enjoyable timeless, digital moments with Finnish literature!

Capturing encounterings

October 4th Photo Ventilation

Happy World Animal Day! My personal digital assistant has communicated diligently with the Operating System in order to control and manage tablet computer's hardware, while I've used its applications in multiple plans.
It became obvious that downloading a video from Vimeo to this platform was not an option now. Because in digital world, what you see is what you get - and for me the visible was a tiny, blue questionmark in a framed, white space due to bugs - problems, that need fixing.
Plan B: i.e. back to basics, transfer KeyNote presentation as a PDF to StripDesign and capture slides from there one by one to Photos. Result: the idea of the title still exists. :D

Time to play

What can I do with the...GoodNote app?

It is a great, positively challenging app for making diverse, personal notebooks. How and what kind of good note(s) this time, it is up to oneself. Output(s) is (are) exportable as a PDF, or an Image or a GoodNote document format. Fun begins by choosing the coverpage and filling one's "Notebook" with suitable platforms / pages in order to take notes e.g.:

  • write down music,
  • handwrite letters,
  • make drawings,
  • do plans

...whatever in mind and with variety of colors!

There is always a possibility in the air, a head-high-sky-feeling to exceed one's talents while making something useful, and a room for play, of course.

Clarification: green slashes points out circulations of the yarn, the new loops. Before or after every "new loop" there are "eatings" the 2-together-loops. Note: in the drawing I have pictured only every second round. Here even rounds are the empty lines, the upside out rounds of the knitting, the "stream-pool-places" where no changes happens.

All for fun and...To Be Continued!

Discovering Relevances

Four MCQ principles

Finding Out Understandable Reason(s) is what I have figured out FOUR means, and that is due to my recent MOOC experiences with answering to a hobbylike amount of Multiple Choice Questions. In order to learn properly, one has to provide an argument for all the choices comes forth in the tasks. Simple, but not self-evident, and needs sometimes lots of Immersing Oneself IN!

  1. Finding - to look for meaning, relevance, truth, importance
  2. Out - to sort out distractors, non relevances / relative subjects
  3. Understandable - to be able to comprehend the fact - a non opinion
  4. Reason(s) - why, what for? - the glimps of lights, intellectual interactiveness

The interest lies in the exchange of arguments, in the not so visible social connection of human brains. Due to the "FOUR's" unity to learning its interactivity is meaningful and full of expectations. What matters in the productiveness of sharing knowledge is the prospect and presence of individual thinking - the essence of humanity. The characteristical, emotional keyword is thus positiveness, because it is the representant of possibilities.

Multible choice question chart
Good way to give push-aid to the learning is to use correct, clear language without negatives. How to do learner-friendly multible choice questions was nicely expressed by Karen Turnbull and Peter Green in Becoming a ConfTrnr MOOC video. Thanks to that, I have been able to confront different kind's of MCQs with relevant information support.
In conclusion: the proposed solution / the clear meaning should become visible in task's all levels, so that learning is possible also via distractors. The mood hooks being involved even when there is no learning yet. When tasks seems to be difficult and reachable in the same time - the suitable activation wins gradually space for development. Every significant encounter leaves memory prints, you know!

Getting acquainted with EMMA

Week of photos

It is my third seven day period in an Estonian MOOC-course: Mobile devices in Everyday Life and same time the third seven day episode of a sick leave due to a fractured left ankle and ou a wild temper'd pony.

Part of this week's task is to "shoot" photos and edit them either in Instagram or by using other applications.

I took the Go Barefoot Day -photo by iOS device iPad 1 June 2015 and edited it with Googles Snapseed app using blackwhite filter and a scaling tool. In Instagram the picture got a bit warm shade of colour in by Aden filter and, by the way, Insta changed the photo's rectangle form to a square - most handy.

5 June 2015 World Environment Day -photograph was snatched by Android smartphone and cropped with its photo editor service's scaling tool. In Insta editing continued with new Lark filter, which cleared its colour world even more.

Environmental aspect in photo is the reuse of old sandbox as a flowerbed.

Drawing Day 6 June 2015 draft was sketched with Notability app and hijacked in to iPad's photo album. Excess edges were cropped away and lines of image were strenghtened with Noir filter tool. In Insta, the scaling was good-to-do-thing in order to keep the letters with in the image. Modification continued with Hefe filter and nice borders appeared to frame the draWingly image.
National Chocolate Ice Cream Day 7 June 2015 photo was catched with iPad via Cat Bomb app and one of it's many "meow" images was put in to it. Final touch with Insta's Valencia filter - and here you are!
